Impact of Femoral Stem Positioning on Bone Stress and Clinical Outcomes in Total Hip Arthroplasty: A Voxel-Based Finite Element Study
This study assessed the impact of femoral stem positioning in total hip arthroplasty (THA) using finite element analysis (FEA) and clinical data. While FEA revealed that mild misalignments slightly altered bone stress, these changes lacked clinical significance. Patients improved postoperatively regardless of implant orientation, with no negative effects on recovery or implant longevity. Ultimately, slight deviations in stem placement have minimal impact on THA success, suggesting that future guidelines should prioritize other factors.
